We're pleased to offer the following services in our Arlington Veterinary Clinic:
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such as rat bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion. If you ever feel that your pet needs emergency treatment, do not hesitate to call or come in immediately. If possible, it is best to call before coming in so that a team member can advise you on your particular emergency.
We are also available for urgent care when the condition is not life-threatening, so if you feel your pet needs to be seen before you are able to get an appointment our staff will work you in between scheduled appointments. When you arrive our receptionists will be able to give you an estimate on how long you may have to wait in order to be seen.
If you have an emergency during our off hours, you can take your pet to one of the following 24 hour animal emergency centers: Animal Emergency Hospital of Mansfield, located at 301 North US Hwy 287, Mansfield, phone: 817-473-7838; I-20 Animal Medical Center, located at 5820 W. I-20, between Green Oaks & Little Road, Arlington, phone: 817-478-9238; or Airport Freeway Animal Emergency Clinic, located at 411 N. Main St., Euless, 817-571-2088

Alternative Medicine (acupuncture, chiropractics, laser therapy, herbal medicine, food and nutritional therapy)
Alternative medicine is a variety of therapeutic or preventive health-care practices that are not typically taught or practiced in traditional medical communities, and offer treatments that differ from standard veterinary practice.
The philosophy of holistic veterinarians is to look at all aspects of the animal, and be open to using a variety of treatments. Holistic veterinarians often concentrate on nutrition and diet, the environment and lifestyle of the animal, and physiological state of the animal in the treatment and prevention of disease. Communication between the animal, owner, and veterinarian are emphasized.
Holistic veterinarians use conventional and alternative therapies on a case-by-case basis. We believe alternative medicine modalities such as acupuncture, herbal medicine, chiropractic, laser therapy and others can play a significant role in the health and wellness of pets.
At Animal Health Care Center we embrace this integrative approach to veterinary care and feel it is important to be able to offer our client as many options as possible when making decisions about the care of their pets.
